Who Needs Love?

It is easy to love those who are loveable. It is easy to love those who love you. It is easy to love those who do all the right things at the right time. On the other hand, it is hard, almost impossible to love those who do not display lovable qualities.

God's love goes way beyond human love. The scriptures state that God loved us before we love him. His love is unconditional.  I came to appreciate the love of God through an experience I had while ministering to the homeless.

Jon, a homeless man whom I had grown to love and care for, helped me to appreciate God's love more. He also helped me to become more sensitive to difficult people.

Jon was saved from committing suicide by the love we showed him week after week as we handed him fresh water and encouraging words. He cut his hair, got a job, and made progress. He even got a place to rent. He was very happy. There was radiance on his face.  During the week of his birthday he was very excited about celebrating it. He celebrated his birthday for a week with a bottle of wine.

Three weeks later, I saw him drinking. The radiance on his face was gone. He was cold. I felt disappointed   when I saw his condition. Before that, I would go and greet him but this time I sat in the van and had other ministry partners to go and hand him the water, and cupcake. (Little did I know that I would not see him there again). The following week his family came and took him off the streets. (This was answer to weeks of prayers.)

On my way home I felt that all my love and care for him were wasted. I started to think, was it worthwhile to minister to these people? The Hole Spirit quickly spoke to me. My job is not to save, heal or change. My job is to be a witness. A great burden was lifted. I was renewed and recharged to continue to minister to the homeless.

The Holy Spirit reminded me of more than one occasions when I failed in my Christian walk.
I remembered how I felt loved and forgiven by God. I thank him for his care and mercy when I most needed it. He then said to me, "Jon needs your love now more than ever."

More than anyone other time I needed to have shown Jon my love and care.

Most of the time the ones who need love do not receive it because they do not display the qualities that we as human beings love to see in them. Homeless people have a great need for love. They feel abandoned and unloved by family and friends. They live in a hopeless sate of mind. Our goal is to show them love and give them hope.

I Hear The Abundance Of Rain!

Are you experiencing a dry season in your life? Be encouraged. I too experienced a very dry season.
In my book,"I Thirst," I write how God took me out of a dry season into an abundance of rain.

Dry seasons in your life create rainclouds. Rainclouds bring showers of blessings~Tassel Chrystal Elaine Daley

1 Kings 18: 41-46 (KJV)
" And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, and eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand, And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black withclouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

My Desire/This One Thing Will I Do

May I ask of you, " If you had the choice to choose one thing to do. What would that be? The answer to this question could be an indication of your assignment. Think about this! The other day my brother and I went to have some papers signed by a notary public. The moment we went in his office he started sharing some jokes. I thought to myself,"This guy should be a comedian." So I took the liberty of asking him the same question I now ask of you. With tears whelming up in his eyes he replied that from a child he always wanted to do comedy. Pursue your dreams!

What Do You Thirst For?

Man has an innate desire to be successful. This desire for accomplishment was given to man by God the Creator from the womb as a special calling, career, gift, or assignment; call it what you may.

"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a profit unto the nation' Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV).

Humanity is always craving for one thing or the other. Baby Boomers long for youth again. Singles crave for companionship and love. Many thirst for riches and recognition;others for power and prestige. What do you thirst for? Do you have the feeling to accomplish something that you have not yet accomplished?

At what stage of your live did you become aware of this feeling?

Quite often the things that fascinated you from childhood are the very things that will bring you fame and fortune.
In the book 'I Thirst' you will read how  several persons tapped into this knowledge and have experienced true success and contentment. You will also read that your age should not stop you from pursuing your dreams.

Pursue your dreams! If you have a burning desire to achieve anything for the good of self or mankind let nothing stand in your way. Never allow your age, race, nationality, economic status or so called limitations to stop you from fulfilling God's purpose for your life. Like  a thirsty person whose  lips are parched, whose body is dehydrated and  cries out , 'I Thirst', and drinks water when given, you too should do everything that lies within your power to activate or achieve that which you desire that will bring glory to God and good to mankind. When obstacles come, use them as stepping stones.

My Romance With Water

Before writing the book, 'I Thirst," I had often wondered  why I love water more than the ordinary. Every forms of water fascinated me; waterfalls, rivers, seas, lakes, lagoons. I love to swim in rivers and seas from a child. At nights I enjoy falling  asleep to the soft, soothing,  sounds of waterfall CDS.  I discovered  the reason why I love water in all shapes and forms, the moment I began writing the book,"I Thirst." Eureka!

I began my love affair with water from a very tender age. At the age of three I went to reside with my grand-mother in Bath, St Thomas, Jamaica. During those days we did not have running water or city in our homes. We received water from rain or from the river. I remember when my cousins and I used to go down to the river to fetch water for drinking and cooking.

Drinking water was stored in earthen pitchers. This kept the water very cool and refreshing. We washed our clothes in nearby rivers. We also swam and bathed in nearby rivers. At the corner of our home we placed large tinned barrels called drums that caught the water that poured down from the zinc roof. This was the fun part. I believe my romance with water began here. I loved the feel of the cool water as it poured down from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. When it rained, I used to put on my bathing suit and stand at the end of the roof where the water poured down. I jumped. I laughed. I sang as the water poured down. My body felt good. I felt clean as the water washed over me. It felt so good I did not want it to stop. I loved the smell of the rain and the taste of the rain water.

Washing day was always a delight to me. I jumped for joy when my older cousins and my aunt would announce that, "Today is washing day." Wash day meant that we would travel a mile and a half to the Bath Fountain. Bath Fountain is located in Bath, St Thomas. Bath Fountain is a tourist attraction. People from around the world traveled there for excursions, retreats, honeymoon, etc.  Bath Fountain is a historical place
located at the foothills of the John Crow Mountains.  Bath Fountain is known for its healing properties. As a child I was told that the baths were discovered in the 17th century by a runaway slave suffering from ulcers in his legs. He stumbled upon the springs and washed his wounded limbs in the water. The next day he noticed that his leg began to heal rapidly. The news of this healing fountain spread quickly and soon the spring was named "The Bath of St. Thomas the Apostle."

Book Reviews/I Thirst

"I Thirst" is one of the most provocative books ever written. Here, clearly, God has endowed Ms. Tassel with a special vision and eyesight to see beyond the current reality of life and say "I THIRST." Here is the greatest yearning any man can achieve, Can you say I THIRST when things seem to go well, Yet, you want it better. you say I thirst when things seem to go bad and yet you still hope that your THIRST is the waxing desire and internal motivation you need to stand back up and say one more time, I am not satisfied with the situation as it is, I THIRST for something better, Even in the Ghetto where I am or in that deplorable situation that makes me feel so low about my self, still "I THIRST." can you say it with me right now, "I THIRST." One writer I admire puts it this way, "Higher than the highest human thoughts can reach, is God's ideal for his children." God wants something higher than your highest dreams. He wants something that can be exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or think. So, as the developer of "DREAMSTART" I say with the deepest voice I know Dr. Wintley Phipps " keep on Climbing until you reach your goal, keep on striving, with all your heart and soul.~Sony Roy

Minister Tassel C. E. Daley has been inspired and anointed by the Holy Spirit with the pen of a ready writer to write this best seller. She has brilliantly drawn the correlation between natural thirst and the desire and the thirst all of us should have for the presence of God.
She also reveals the reason behind your burning desire and how you may quench it.
Minister Fidel M. Donaldson

Author of Best Seller,"Diamond in the Rough"

This book will not only inspire you to take an introspective view at what you really desire to do, or to be, but will motivate you to rise up from your complacency and do what you desire to do regardless of your age or limitations.
